Rogues and Vagabonds was formed in 2003 by Amanda Laidler and Andrew Holtom, with the aim of doing music theatre less often presented, and exploring new work. After their first show (Shakespeare on Love) the directors formed a youth group, Young Rogues and Vagabonds, which performed regularly in and around Stratford until 2017. A list of productions can be found on our HISTORY page.
The group often put on productions with adults as well as young people in the company and after 14 years of working with young people, Amanda and Andrew decided it was time to move back to the group’s original purpose: so, 2018 sees what we hope will be the first of productions with adult companies.
A number of Young Rogues have gone on to make successful careers in the arts professions, both onstage and backstage. Others are following non-theatre careers, but are continuing to perform with amateur companies. Three of them will be seen in I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change. Some have joined Second Thoughts, Stratford Musical Theatre and the Loft Theatre in Leamington.
